Vascular Dementia
As obstacles cause the mind to stumble, get help back to the path.
Vascular dementia is a general term describing problems with reasoning, planning, judgment, memory and other thought processes caused by brain damage from impaired blood flow to your brain.
You can develop vascular dementia after a stroke blocks an artery in your brain, but strokes don’t always cause vascular dementia. Whether a stroke affects your thinking and reasoning depends on your stroke’s severity and location. Vascular dementia can also result from other conditions that damage blood vessels and reduce circulation, depriving your brain of vital oxygen and nutrients.
Symptoms may be most clear-cut when they occur suddenly following a stroke. When changes in your thinking and reasoning seem clearly linked to a stroke, this condition is sometimes called post-stroke dementia.

Dementia
The term itself has become confusing to most. Find your answers here.
A good analogy to the term dementia is “fever.” Fever refers to an elevated temperature, indicating that a person is sick. But it does not give any information about what is causing the sickness. In the same way, dementia means that there is something wrong with a person’s brain, but it does not provide any information about what is causing the memory or cognitive difficulties. Dementia is not a disease; it is the clinical presentation or symptoms of a disease.

Cancer
Find light and warmth when the path ahead seems dark. Find shelter in the storm.
The majority of people who have cancer are 65-or-older. It’s a reality many of us will face as we grow older, but that makes it no less jarring for the individuals, of any age, who must come to terms with this disease and live their life through it. We are here to assist – through treatment, care, hospitalization or hospice – wherever we can bring comfort and guidance.
